Bothan The show passion for the nature of choreographer Moses Pendleton, founder of Momix. “I was inspired to first cycle of Vivaldi and his Four Seasons”, it says the choreographer. The show is divided into two parts: Winder Spring (the name of the first two seasons, Winter-Spring, but also in English, “the impetus (spring) winter”) and Summer Fall (Summer – Autumn, but also “the Summer Fall “). And in this simple but fascinating language game hides much of the elementary but interesting philosophy Pendletoniana. The choreography is a set of elaborate optical toys, woven of effective structures dynamics of modern dance. The sound landscape is impressive variety: thirty-five different sound sources. Underlying Bothan there is also a desire to draw lessons from the observation of nature in the sense, in fact, a bit ‘naive and perhaps even “hippies” of the term. “This – Pendleton says – is the essence of Momix: one sees a flower to a bird, a human being in a rock, a woman in a man. We must use fantasy, imagination and creativity. In our shows we try cause what I call “Optical Confusion”: a way to excite the nerves of the brain and stimulate creativity. “

Momix is a contraction of “Moses Mix”, the title of a solo created by Moses Pendleton for the Winter Olympics in Lake Placid in 1980. Bothan director and choreographer, Moses Pendleton was born and raised on a farm for the breeding of dairy cattle in northern Vermont. While remaining one of the artistic directors of Pilobolus, Pendleton began to work alone. In 1980 he founded the company in 1992 and MOMIX presents PASSION, which soon became a worldwide success. Bothan This is a show designed on the soundtrack of Martin Scorsese’s The Last Temptation of Christ, Peter Gabriel. The same year the famous San Francisco Giants baseball team MOMIX relies on the creation of a choreography for an opening. Give birth to new show called, precisely, BASEBALL (1994). In February 1996 the show debuted in Milan SUPERMOMIX. In February 2001 the company presents the world premiere of the show OPUS CACTUS the Joyce Theater in New York, hailed by critics worldwide. Ever the public in countries where it has been represented in recent years.
