ONE Night in Colosseum PDF Print E-mail
Two great historical monuments to visit under the stars: the Colosseum and the Baths of Caracalla open at night from August 21. The Superintendence for Cultural Heritage of Rome has signed an agreement Monday with union representatives to help plan special openings in the summer.
From August 21 to October 23 the Colosseum and the Baths of Caracalla will be visited every Saturday until the 24th, while at the same time the House of Livia on the Palatine and the Roman Forum Temple of Romulus, not normally accessible to the public, will be open during normal visiting hours of the archaeological site.

Now the Colosseum at night will no longer be a privileged few. In summer it for two days a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, from 21 to 24, the Coliseum will be open at night and will be visible all four levels of the monument, you can also access it to underground and penthouses. To access the underground and the third level, but must wait until August, the hypogea may be visited in groups of 10-12 people at a time. You can walk the corridors used by gladiators before reaching the center of the arena and you will also discover where the animals were kept in the shows. Definitely a different way to enjoy the crisp summer nights in Rome.
